Incredible turbulence created by a drone

NASA’s high-end supercomputers have revealed the incredible turbulence created by a drone.

We know the engine power an airplane takes while in the air, but to help improve the design and flight characteristics of future drones, NASA has managed to get their supercomputer this time to simulate what air movement actually looks like, revealing the incredible complexity.

In one study, the simulation, which included a 3D model of the DJI Phantom 3 triple amplifier, revealed how it not only moves away from the propellers in the air, but also how it interacts with the body of the X-shaped boat. Research conducted at NASA’s Ames Research Center has proven that doubling the number of rotors nearly doubles the weight of the vehicle, making it more useful for lifting heavy objects and making autonomous vehicles more useful for practical applications, confirming that drones aren’t just shooting vacation videos.
